54 miles for the week. I think the back is getting better. It seems to be affected most by intensity so most of my runs have been quite slow. Over the next few months I plan on increasing my mileage. I plan on being pretty conservative because of my back and I am still not 100% confident in my calf.
I race the Vet's Day 8k this week. I ran a about 20 seconds slower than last year, but I haven't been doing any intensity whereas last year I was coming off TC10 Mile. My back was pretty sore again after the race but not as bad as after Rocky's Run.

11/3-11/9
49 miles total. I ran 80 minutes on Thursday in a real cold rain 40 degrees and windy... Wednesday might have been worse. It was about the hardest rain I have seen around here for 20 minutes and it caught me right at the end of my run. A pretty good week, I am planning on running the Veterans Day 8k on Tuesday. I ran 29:13 last year and would like to run faster this year.

10/27-11/2
A pretty good week this week. I rode the train to St. Paul this weekend and went the the MN state meet with PK. Watched the Winhawks and Cougars dual it out in the girls race. Paul convinced me to stick around and race the next day on the Griak course. I ran 27:41 but we took a wrong turn cutting off 100-200m. I feel pretty good about except for losing to a high schooler (at least he was all state the day before - although I don't know if him racing the day before makes it any better). 5:29, 5:37, 5:33, 5:46 (big hill), 5:38 pace... The calf is better (I think) but I am dealing with another chronic occurance and that is my hip and back. I have started doing some stregnth and mobility exercises that I have done in the past that usually take care of the problem within a week or two.

10/6-10/12
40 miles again this week on 8 runs. This is kind of boring and the leg is getting better (although I have thought this in the past few months too). I am going to be patient with this and build the mileage slowly while considering the leg.

I didn't run the TC 10 mile. I woke up Monday morning with swollen and really weird pain in my left knee. I took anti inflammatory medicine for the better part of the week and decided with my calf and knee I was much better off not racing.

About 35 miles this week on six runs. On Sunday I did 2x1 mile tempo with a minute jog. I am going to run TC10 mile next weekend and it will hurt. I guess I should have a "goal" or something. Considering my current fitness I will hope for faster than last year (56:38) as long as it isn't as hot as last year.

About 40 miles on 8 runs. Still the same tightness with my leg. I have been icing, stretching, and using the stick with no real luck. I wish I had a way to heat before runs.

Nothing too exciting again. About 37 miles with an 8k in 27:30ish on seven days all singles. I have been sick, leg still feels the same.
